Notes

Asynchronous Online Classes

Exams for asynchronous classes will likely be given remotely or online, at the instructor’s discretion. If a student has an exam conflict, instructors should be prepared to conduct remote/online make-up exams.

Synchronous Online Classes

Remote/online exams for synchronous online courses will follow the aforementioned exam schedule.

Evening and Saturday Classes

Except as noted above, class exams on Saturday and in the evening will be given during exam week at the regularly scheduled class time.

Final Exams Must Be Held During Exam Week

If a final exam—whether comprehensive or not—is a prerequisite for the class, it can only be taken during the final exam week as per the above schedule. Final exams that are given sooner than the scheduled time, either the week before or the week of the final exam, are not allowed. Block exams are the single exception to this rule. Please cooperate fully with us by closely following this schedule for all class exams. The University Registrar should receive any requests for modifications.

Block Exams

In order to prevent conflicts with other class exams, exams for courses that have been approved for block exams will be given from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, April 24-27. Block exam scheduling is only permitted for courses in which all sections have consented to take a common exam at a common time.

Online Class Grading

Online class grading is accessible around-the-clock.

Students With Three or More Exams on the Same Day

Any student who has three exams on the same day may ask for the rescheduling or postponement of one of them, provided the request can be worked out with the instructor of one of the relevant courses.

Graduate and Once a Week In–Service Classes

Graduate and in-service seminars that meet once a week, typically in the late afternoon (4:00 p.m. or later), and are primarily attended by part-time students are exempt from the test schedule. These courses’ final exams will be administered during exam week at the regularly scheduled class time.

Half Session Classes

Half-session classes are not subject to the test schedule. Final exams for these classes are to be delivered at the normally scheduled class time on the last day of class.
