History Bank of Baroda: Bank of Baroda was founded by the Maharaja of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III on 20 July 1908. The bank was nationalized on 19 July 1969, by the Government of India and has been designated as a profit-making public sector undertaking (PSU). its first branch was established in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It established Branches in Mombasa (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda) in 1953, Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) in 1956, London in 1957, Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 1972 and Durban in 1997. It was merged with Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank on September 17, 2018 by The government of India to create the country’s third largest lender.
