The property sale will send $235,000 to the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank, which receives a 2% transfer fee on the majority of arm’s length real estate transactions, according to the Vineyard Gazette.

The fees are used to conserve natural resources like aquifers, picturesque views, and farming on the Vineyard by purchasing conservation land.
