2023 European Championships- European Para Championships
The Netherlands Basketball Federation has been given the 23rd European Championship for Men and the 18th European Championship for Women – Division A – by IWBF Europe. The contest is returning to Rotterdam, Netherlands, after a four-year absence as a combined event.

Wheelchair basketball is one of seven to eleven sports that will be included in the inaugural competition of the European Para Championships, which Team TOC will host in August 2023. A unique place will be reserved for wheelchair basketball because it will play for the full 13-day duration of this multisport competition, from Tuesday, August 8, to Sunday, August 20, 2023. The Rotterdam Ahoy is intended to serve as a single arena centre with competition and practise fields for all sports.
The 2023 European Championship will include a total of 18 teams, including 6 women’s national teams and 12 men’s national teams. The European Championship and potential qualification for the Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 will be the objectives.
A significant number of volunteers as well as an experienced group are expected to participate in the organisation. BEN Foundation, who was also a member of the team in charge of organising the 2019 Women’s European Championship, will work with Netherlands Basketball Federation to put the tournament together.
