American Express Website Crashes as Taylor Swift fans Buy Pre-sale Tickets
Ticketek reports that “demand for tickets will be far greater than what is available” for Taylor Swift’s eras tour in Australia, and that “demand for tickets will be far greater than what is available.”Ticketek remained confident that their system would be able to handle the flood of traffic during the American Express presale and general sale on Friday, despite website disruptions during the American Express presale.

The delay, according to Ticketek, was caused by disruptions on the American Express website, which prevented fans from accessing the sale through Ticketek.
Ticketek apologized to fans for the disruption in a message sent Monday morning, saying that “the Ticketek site is working as expected, but there is currently a problem with the AMEX site.”
American Express was able to restore its website within two hours of the outage.
“Following some technical difficulties this morning as a result of high demand, we are pleased to report that the website link is now back up and running,” an American Express representative told 9News.
The American Express ticket site collapsed half an hour before some presale packages for the February 2024 tour’s Sydney gigs went available for cardholders at 10 a.m. on Monday. Melbourne packages became available later in the day, and presale and public sale tickets are expected to go on sale later this week.
Amex began reacting to Twitter users who claimed that the site had crashed by directing them to Ticketek sites, which appeared to be handling web traffic and remained open.
The Amex website was restored later that morning, with the corporation admitting that the technical troubles were caused by overwhelming demand. The corporation declined to say on how many packages were available on Monday.
