Elon Musk welcomes 12th child, saying ‘our friends and family knew’ about the birth

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is known for his success in the technology industry, has announced the birth of his 12th child, his third with Shivon Zilis, who is also the Director of Neuralink. He mentioned that his loved ones, including close friends and relatives, had no doubts about the birth of the baby. Additionally, he has refuted claims that he was involved in a “secret affair” that led to the birth of the child.

Musk said it was “bizarre” not to issue a press release about his 12th child. The baby’s name and gender are unknown.

“The phrase ‘secretly fathered’ is likewise untrue. Our entire family and circle of friends are aware. Failure to publish a press release, which would be strange, does not imply ‘secret,'” he was reported as saying by Page Six of India Today.

Elon Musk Family Background and Marital History

Musk has three children with Zilis, all of whom work for his brain implant company. Strider and Azure, Musk’s twins, were born in 2021.

Initially, Musk wed Justine Wilson in the year 2000, after which they brought into the world five offspring. The union ended in divorce by the year 2008. The following year, in 2010, he wed actress Talulah Riley, who went on to separate from him in 2016. In 2018, Musk began a romantic relationship with Canadian artist Grimes, and they eventually had three children.

The 52-year-old entrepreneur has expressed sorrow over a drop in birth rates, noting out that several countries were far below replacement levels. Global trend indicated a further decline.

“Many countries are already at or below the replacement rate, and the trend suggests that almost all will be. “This is simply a fact, not a ‘debunked theory,'” he told Page Six.

He advised that “2.1 kids is the replacement rate, and obviously the world as a whole will soon drop below that point”.

Musk supported having “big families” in a July 2022 interview with Page Six, saying he wanted many children so he could spend time with them and be a good father.

Musk had already stated at the time that a “collapsing birth rate was the biggest danger civilisation faced”.

Apart from Musk’s three children with Zilis, the tech magnate has twins Griffin and Vivian as well as triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian with wife Justine Wilson. Nevada, their eldest child, died at 10 weeks of age from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
