Fact:Remdesivir cannot be purchased directly from Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. This anti-viral drug is not part of the list of generic medicines given on the Jan Aushadhi government website. The claim that Remdesivir can be purchased at ₹899 is also misleading, as only one Indian manufacturer (out of seven) has slashed its price earlier in March. Hence the claim is MISLEADING.
There is no question of use of Remdesivir in home setting. This is required for those individuals who require hospitalisation & are on oxygen. Not to be procured from chemist shops.
