April will see a national tour by the current lineup, which includes Jean-Jacques Burnel, Baz Warne, Jim Macaulay, and Toby Hounsham, with headlining performances in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Newcastle. The band’s first tour without keyboardist Dave Greenfield, who joined in 1975 and passed away in 2020, will take place.

In the middle of the 1970s, The Stranglers were born in Guildford, a town outside of London. Punk was becoming more popular, but The Stranglers separated out from their peers due to their varied musical tastes. The Stranglers’ multifaceted sound is demonstrated in songs like “Always The Sun,” “Skin Deep,” “Peaches,” and their biggest hit, “Golden Brown,” while their potent live performances added to the band’s aura of mystery.

The Stranglers’ first new album in nine years, Dark Matters, was released in 2021. Jet Black, the band’s original drummer, was absent from the recording process because he left the group in 2015 after 40 years. Keyboardist Greenfield does appear on the record.
