Dates are sweet, cool, nutritious and give energy immediately after consumption. It increases blood, flesh and semen. Gives strength to heart and mind. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the sedatives of these three doshas. It clears the stool and urine. Carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron etc. are found in abundance in dates. According to the American Cancer Society, the body needs 20-35 grams of dietary fibre a day, which is fulfilled by eating dates.

Benefits of Eating Dates in winter
It is beneficial to soak dates in water overnight and take them in the morning. It is especially useful for those with weak hearts. Dates are beneficial in liver diseases. Its regular consumption is beneficial in anaemia. Cooking date chutney in lemon juice ends the distaste of food. Consumption of dates makes hair long, thick and soft.
Uses of Dates in Winter
Weakness of brain and heart: Soaking dates at night and eating it with milk or ghee in the morning gives strength to the brain and heart muscles. This experiment is especially beneficial in heart beat and lack of concentration due to lack of blood.
Eclampsia: Dates are excellent semen boosters. Taking it with cow’s ghee or goat’s milk increases sperm count. Apart from this, it is also beneficial in excessive menstruation, tuberculosis, cough, confusion (dizziness), pain and numbness of the waist and extremities and thyroid related diseases.
Constipation: Dates are rich in laxative properties. Soak 8-10 dates in 200 grams of water, mash them in the morning to make syrup. Then add 300 grams of water to it and drink it lukewarm on an empty stomach like tea. After some time there will be diarrhoea. This will give strength to the intestines and energy to the body. Adjust the quantity of dates according to age.
Anti-intoxication: Alcoholics often drink so much alcohol in the guise of intoxication that their liver is destroyed and becomes the cause of death. In this situation, make syrup by mashing the dates well in freshwater. By drinking this syrup, the toxic effect of alcohol starts getting destroyed.
Strengthens the intestines: Dates destroy the harmful bacteria of the intestines, as well as the special elements of dates give rise to such bacteria which make the intestines especially stronger and more active.
In heart diseases: about 50 grams of kernels free dates (Kharak) 250 ml. Soak overnight in water. Make a paste by grinding the dates in the morning and dissolve it in the remaining water. Drinking it on an empty stomach in the morning gives enough strength to the heart within a few months. Adding 1 gram cardamom powder to it is particularly beneficial.
Affirmation of body and mind: By giving boiled dates in milk to children, they get physical-mental nutrition and the body becomes strong.
Shamutra: Children who wet the bed at night, soak two dates in the night and boil it in milk in the morning.
In children’s diarrhoea: If children have frequent green stools or dysentery while teething, then licking one spoon 2-3 times a day by mixing honey with dates is beneficial.
Caution: Nowadays, after separating the date from the tree, it is dried by chemical substances. These chemicals are harmful to the body. Therefore, wash the dates thoroughly before using them. After washing and drying, they can be used in various ways.
Quantity: Wash 5 to 7 dates thoroughly and soak them overnight and eat them in the morning. 2-4 dates are sufficient for children. Eating mixed with milk or ghee is especially beneficial.
