Odell Beckham to the Chiefs

Aaron: Around Kansas City, it seems like Groundhog Day. Last season, we had this exact identical conversation at the exact same moment. The wide receiver choices in Kansas City were solid, but they could always be better. With Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City always seems to be a contender. We are aware that you have 6–8 weeks to travel and prepare for the playoffs… If I push back, at what price? Do you reduce Skyy Moore’s output (and self-assurance) by adding Odell Beckham? Do you let Mecole Hardman know that he won’t be involved in the long run? All of this began when Travis Kelce restructured his contract. Something seems to be in the works, and if it’s not OBJ, Brett Veach seems to be working on it.

Mark: “Mecole Hardman is the simple solution. We shouldn’t still be experiencing these communication problems and being in the wrong place at this point in Year 4. Skyy Moore is maximising his opportunities despite having few of them. The Chiefs are letting Hardman walk after this season, so they shouldn’t feel forced to keep him around. If they wanted to bring back an experienced player who was already on the roster, JuJu Smith-Schuster would probably be the top choice. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Melvin Ingram, the last two players to turn down the Chiefs the first time, ended up on the roster. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are difficult to refuse twice.
