Chandigarh: Tattoo artist held with 52gm charas

Chandigarh: A tattoo artist, age 23, was detained for having charas. With 52 gm of charas, the culprit, Daman Deep Singh of Sector 16, was apprehended at the Sector 15 market’s parking lot. He was the target of a case. Later, he was freed on bond.

PU prof among top scientists

In the domain of natural sciences/physics, Dr. Manish Dev Sharma, an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at Panjab University, has been listed on the AD Scientific Index-2022, a list of the top 2% of the nation’s scientists. Dr. Sharma has more than 60 publications in a variety of national and international journals. He currently serves as the University of Ladakh’s Registrar.

New animal housing at the zoo

Inaugurating a number of amenities built and expanded for the benefit of animals and visitors on Thursday at the Chhatbir Zoo was Minister of Forests and Wildlife Preservation Lal Chand Kataruchak. The minister also dedicated a critical care area for carnivores at Lion Safari, a wildlife interpretation center, an open-air zoo education plaza with more than 100 seats, and the kitchen where food for animals would be prepared.

New NCC Directorate ADG

Major General Hardev Singh Sohi has been appointed as the NCC’s Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate’s 10th Additional Director General. The directorate is based in Chandigarh. Maj Gen Sohi has held significant command and staff positions during his 33 years of service, including a foreign posting. In the midst of the ongoing conflicts in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast, it entails taking leadership of an infantry battalion and infantry brigade.
